I L-O-V-E quotes. Ever since I was younger, I’ve been crazy for words. I would buy quote books by the dozens and devour them highlighter in hand. I’d type them out in little snippets to hang around my room. I’d memorize some. Some words just have the power to move me to the core. I had forgotten how much I loved quotes. Then I came across this post and I was moved, I remembered a lost love. Then today I read this and realized I needed to invite my old lover back into my life. Here are some of my favorites from the original post that so kindly reminded me of my love of quotes:
“Finish every day and be done with it…You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it…serenely, and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson.
“Before you speak, ask yourself, is it kind, is it necessary, is it true, does it improve on the silence?”
“Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.”
“People will forget what you said.
People will forget what you did.
But people will never forget how you made them feel.”
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
“We ask ourselves who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be?? You are a child of God. Your playing small does NOT serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to manifest the Glory of God that is within us, ALL of us. And as we let our Light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fears, our Presence automatically liberates others.”
